About Drishti Eye Care Hospital

One Stop Solutions For all

Eye Related Problems

We treat all eye diseases. In addition, we tackle the major cause for reversible blindness in Bihar (cataract) with an ongoing programme that identifies the cataract-blind via village screening, transports patients to hospital and provides free surgery and aftercare. Since we started this work, around… people have had their sight restored and countless others prevented from going blind.

From our inception, we have been supported by Mr. Ramesh KD Shah and SECOND SIGHT, UK, an organization founded by an ophthalmologist with hands-on experience working in rural Bihar. It is the only international NGO that has made Bihar its focus of attention. Their commitment is to support eye hospitals that put patients first, not profit.

Our vision

Combining Quality Care & Modern Conveniences.

  • To do the best for every patient every day
  • To respect and allow each member of staff to contribute to planning and decision-
making and to resist top-heavy corporate-style management
  • To maintain a strong community spirit and involvement in our working practices so that we can educate patients about preventable eye conditions
  • To play our part in the protection of the environment. We led the way in Green policies in our area of Bihar with two initiatives – giving free cataract surgery to villagers who bring in plastic for recycling, and donating a tree to each post-operative patient. We constantly monitor and adapt our working practices to minimize pollution to the precious environment of our rural setting.
  • To co-operate and not compete with other community eye hospitals in Bihar.
